Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has received Health Canada approval for Boey® (trenibotulinumtoxinE), the first and only rapid-onset, short-duration botulinum neurotoxin approved for the temporary improvement of glabellar (frown) lines in adults.
Canada becomes the first country to approve a botulinum neurotoxin serotype E for aesthetic use, with results visible as early as eight hours after treatment and lasting approximately two to three weeks. Allergan Aesthetics plans to begin clinician training ahead of its commercial launch, while regulatory reviews continue in other countries.
