Galderma has reported positive topline results from a 162-patient Chinese study of Restylane Volyme, known as Restylane Contour in the U.S., for the correction of moderate-to-severe temple hollowing. The randomized study met its primary endpoint, demonstrating effectiveness and safety compared with a no-treatment control.

At Month 6, 94.4% of treated patients achieved at least a one-grade improvement in temple hollowing in both temples, compared with 2.0% in the control group. Investigator-assessed aesthetic improvement remained high through Month 12, while more than 84% of patients continued to report satisfaction with the natural look and feel of their temples.
Restylane Volyme uses OBT™ technology, creating a moderately soft and flexible HA gel designed to distribute within tissue and support natural-looking facial volume restoration. The study reported no treatment-related serious adverse events and no granulomas, with the product generally well tolerated.
The results add to Galderma’s growing clinical evidence for Restylane and support its strategy to expand the portfolio in China, where demand for HA fillers and individualized aesthetic treatments continues to grow. The company is using the data to support broader access and potential expansion into additional treatment areas.
