LG Chem is intensifying efforts to enhance its competitiveness in the Thai aesthetic market. On January 10, the company announced the launch of full-scale sales of ‘VITARAN (export name HP Cell VITARAN i),’ a skin booster containing PN (Polynucleotide) ingredients, in Thailand.

Leveraging the direct sales network of its Thai subsidiary, LG Chem has expanded its aesthetic product line, following the introduction of ‘YVOIRE,’ a cosmetic filler launched in Thailand in 2021. By maximizing the synergy between this new product and YVOIRE, the company aims to accelerate its growth in the Thai market, a key high-growth region in the medical aesthetics industry.

VITARAN, a skin booster medical device introduced last year by BR Pharm, a company specializing in regenerative medicine technology research and manufacturing, stands out for its injection formulation and use of high-quality raw materials. Unlike typical skin boosters approved as cosmetics, skin booster medical devices can be directly injected into the skin, offering more immediate and noticeable skin improvement effects. Furthermore, the production base for the raw materials, the BR Pharm trout farming facilities, has gained credibility in raw material quality management by receiving certification for suitable facility standards (non-detected radioactivity and heavy metal components), following a marine product safety investigation by the Jeollanam-do Ocean & Fisheries Science Institute.

Thailand is the largest aesthetic market in Southeast Asia. According to the Thai Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Surgery, the non-invasive treatment market in Thailand is expected to more than double from KRW 700 billion (USD 484 million) in 2023 to KRW 1.5 trillion (USD 1.084 billion) by 2030.

As the aesthetic market shifts toward natural skin improvement, simpler injection treatments like fillers and skin boosters are predicted to become more popular. This trend offers opportunities for companies with a diverse product portfolio that can cater to the varied needs of doctors and consumers.

LG Chem is also preparing to launch its premium line filler, ‘Y-Solution’, following YVOIRE and VITARAN. Through this, the company’s strategy is to continuously strengthen its presence in the Thai market.

“Since launching YVOIRE, the first hyaluronic acid filler developed by a Korean company in 2011, we have worked diligently to expand our product lines and markets overseas, providing reliable solutions to medical beauty customers worldwide,” stated Noh Ji-hye, head of LG Chem’s Aesthetics Division. “We will continue to develop safe and effective products and treatments to meet the diverse medical beauty needs worldwide, including skin improvement and facial contouring,” she added.
